“Silovyye Mashiny” Manufactures GTU-170 Turbine for Artemovskaya TPP-2

“Silovyye Mashiny” has manufactured a GTU-170.1 gas turbine for the construction of Artemovskaya TPP-2, a combined heat and power plant (CHP) owned by the RusHydro Group. This is part of a state program aimed at developing the thermal power sector in the Russian Far East, according to a statement from the company.

The gas turbine has successfully passed the factory acceptance tests. It will soon be shipped and delivered to the new power plant by rail.

A Key Step for the Far East’s Energy System

The project’s electrical capacity is set at 440 MW, with a thermal capacity of 456 Gcal/h. This new turbine will significantly increase the power supply capacity of the Far East’s energy system and improve the reliability of heat and electricity delivery to consumers.

“Two large-capacity GTU-170.1 gas turbines will be supplied for the construction of the new power plant,” the company stated. “Silovyye Mashiny” will also oversee the installation and commissioning of the equipment.”

Investments and Domestic Gas Turbine Production

The company has launched the serial production of domestic gas turbines with support from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. Total investments in the project amount to 25 billion rubles, with 6.9 billion rubles of that sum being subsidized by the government for research and development (R&D) and experimental design work.

Currently, the manufacturing capacity of Silovyye Mashiny stands at 8 turbines per year, with plans to increase it to 10 turbines per year by 2029. In parallel, the company is working on the design and development of a new series of gas turbines, focused on increasing both their power output and efficiency.
