Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade will lead a major industrial delegation to Riyadh next month as the international exhibition INNOPROM Saudi Arabia opens February 8-10, 2026. Minister Anton Alikhanov will participate in the business program alongside Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khuraif, signaling deepening industrial cooperation between the two nations.
The exhibition will feature Russian civil drones, healthcare technologies, and the Mi-171A3 offshore helicopter among other advanced solutions, according to Russian trade authorities. The Mi-171A3 represents Russia’s first domestically developed helicopter specifically designed for offshore operations, meeting standards set by the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) for servicing marine drilling platforms and conducting search-and-rescue missions over water. The aircraft can transport up to 24 passengers and features advanced navigation systems capable of operating without GPS signals.
Russia’s unmanned aerial systems sector has experienced dramatic growth, with the Ministry of Industry and Trade projecting annual domestic demand exceeding 46,000 units through 2030. In 2024, Russia’s civil drone market reached 39,000 units, significantly exceeding the planned 27,951 units, according to ministry data. Several Russian drone manufacturers have already established production facilities in the Middle East, with one company recently opening two training and production centers for unmanned systems in the UAE and Saudi Arabia specifically targeting regional markets.
The INNOPROM Saudi Arabia event builds on strengthening economic ties between Moscow and Riyadh. Bilateral trade increased more than 60 percent in 2024 to exceed $3.8 billion, with Russian exports to the kingdom growing 70.5 percent to $2.76 billion. In the first quarter of 2025, trade momentum accelerated further with turnover quadrupling compared to the same period in 2024, Alikhanov reported at the 2025 INNOPROM exhibition in Yekaterinburg where Saudi Arabia served as partner country. The February exhibition marks INNOPROM’s first international edition outside Russia, reflecting the expanding scope of Russian-Saudi industrial partnerships in sectors including shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, and autonomous systems.
Exhibition organizers report approximately 80 percent of display space has been reserved, with business events covering mechanical engineering, industrial automation, digital technologies, transport technologies, energy solutions, and medical industry innovations. The event takes place at The Arena venue in Riyadh with support from both governments and will include over ten business events bringing together representatives from Russia, Saudi Arabia, EAEU countries, and the Arabian Peninsula to discuss industrial and trade cooperation opportunities.
