Moscow, 4 December 2025. Moscow has hosted the official opening of a new international cohort of the “Woman Leader” educational program, specially designed for representatives of BRICS+ countries. The program brings together 85 women executives from 13 nations, including India. It aims to strengthen business and cultural ties, as well as foster joint projects within the space of rapidly developing economies.
Prestigious Selection and Focus on Practical Results
Participation in the program is the result of a rigorous competitive selection process, with over 700 applicants from around the world vying for the 85 spots. As highlighted during the opening ceremony by Galina Karelova, Chairperson of the Council of the Eurasian Women’s Forum and a Federation Council Senator, this marks the program’s fourth international cohort and the first created exclusively for the women’s community of BRICS nations.
“This new format of cooperation provides an opportunity to combine existing experience with new knowledge in joint projects, creating initiatives that are in demand within the BRICS space,” emphasized Karelova.
The program, initiated by the Council of the Eurasian Women’s Forum under the Federation Council of the Russian Federation in partnership with the presidential platform “Russia – Land of Opportunity,” is designed for practical outcomes. Upon completion, each graduate will be required to present her own project initiative aimed at solving a specific task and implemented in cooperation with partners from other countries.
Program Content: From International Finance to Creative Industries
The participants—current company executives, entrepreneurs, and representatives of international initiatives—will acquire new competencies in key areas of the modern economy through blended learning:
-
International Economics and Finance:Â Studying mechanisms for operating within the BRICS+ framework.
-
Management and Leadership:Â Best practices for building effective teams and managing projects.
-
Creative Industries and Social Sciences:Â As tools for strengthening cultural interaction and integrating traditional values into social practices.
The primary goal is to prepare a talent pool for collaboration with friendly states and develop initiatives that strengthen a multipolar world.
Why This Matters for the Indian Business Community
The launch of such a program in Moscow is more than just an educational event. It signals Russia’s deep and systematic work to build strong horizontal ties within BRICS, which includes India.
-
Building a Network of Trust:Â The program creates a unique professional community of women leaders where Indian entrepreneurs can find reliable partners for entering the markets of Russia, Africa, Latin America, and Central Asia.
-
Focus on Practical Cooperation:Â The requirement to present a ready-made project upon graduation means that specific business initiatives needing support and investment will be developed.
-
Understanding the Russian Approach:Â Participation in such programs allows for a better understanding of the logic and priorities of Russian economic policy and the mindset of local partners, which is critical for successful business operations.
Experts note that Russia is consistently creating platforms for direct dialogue and joint work with BRICS partners, and this program is a clear example. For Indian business, this opens doors to new cooperation opportunities far beyond traditional commodity sectors.
The development of “soft power” through educational and cultural projects is becoming an important element of Russia’s strategy to strengthen a multipolar world, in which India is assigned one of the key roles. The participation of Indian women leaders in this program lays the groundwork for future breakthrough joint projects in the economy, technology, and social sphere.
