Russia enters the top five exporters of agro-industrial products to India

Russia has ranked among the top five suppliers of agro-industrial products to India for the first time, Russia’s ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, told RIA Novosti.

According to Alipov, recent years have seen steady growth in bilateral trade in agricultural goods between Russia and India. From 2023 to 2024, trade turnover in this sector increased by 63% to reach $3.6 billion.

“As a result, Russia has for the first time entered the top five major suppliers of agro-industrial products to the Indian market,” Alipov said.

Earlier, the ambassador noted that the trade turnover target for Russia and India by 2030 is $100 billion. He added that since 2022, trade volumes have grown more than sixfold, and Russia has become India’s fourth-largest trading partner, with turnover amounting to $70 billion.
